The Swire Chinese Language Centre London was established by Harris Federation in 2016 with the generous support of the Swire Chinese Language Foundation. The initiative aims to improve the quality, quantity and reach of Chinese language teaching in the UK. 

Our belief in the power of language learning to broaden horizons and raise aspirations is central to our work.  We are currently working with 8 secondary and 7 primary schools across London,  allowing over 4000 children to access Chinese language teaching and rich cultural opportunities. 

 

We hope that by encouraging Chinese to become a core subject in school curricula it will remove barriers to learning and be viewed as a subject that can be taken on by students from all backgrounds and of all learning capabilities.  With relations between Britain and China more important than ever, this is an exciting time to engage with Chinese language and culture.
